Heart Rhythm Meditation

Expanding Your Capacity for Stress

When stressful situations arise, your heartbeat can jump to twice the speed. The four peaks in the following graph show an increase from 65 beats/min to over 100 beats/min.

This spike in the heart rate causes high-frequency waves within the heart, so that the heart's reaction to stress is itself stressful to the heart.

The graph below shows a heart rate during Heart Rhythm Meditation. There are only gentle changes in the heart rate, and stress does not occur. This heart rate pattern actually prevents stress.

Heart Rhythm Meditation is a modern method with ancient roots. It coordinates your body's internal rhythms, producing entrainment of heartbeat, breath and brainwaves. This makes a connection between the mind and heart so that your emotions become understandable and your desires conscious.
